This vessel is a prison that I’m forced to endure
I loathe what I’m becoming, I find myself impure
My eyes focus on my skin, tainted by imperfection
I dwell in anxiety, staring at my reflection
As I gaze into the glass, the monster staring back
Tells me to alter myself until he fades to black
Its words echo within me, I can’t contain the urge
It’s time to strip my defects, my mural must emerge


I loathe what I’ve become
My senses have all gone numb


So with this blade
I paint a masterpiece
Like a Tapestry
Or a Symphony
With each drag of the blade
I conceal each mistake
With each painful stroke
I pen the next note

Harsh pleasure subsides and now i'm left with this
The abstract creation invoking my painful bliss
Now that my body has felt this sensation
Of self mutilation and pains ideation
The scarlet letter that I am now forced to wear
Permanent keepsake from dwelling in my despair
Staring blankly at my horrid reflection
Depreciation destroyed my perception

I must live with these scars
My Magnum Opus, My work of art

I Took the blade
Painted my masterpiece
Like a Tapestry
Or a Symphony
The strokes upon my flesh
Eloquent in practice
Now a painful reminder
Embedded in the Canvas
